What is It?
Plagiocephaly is flattening of the back of the infant head.  It is noticeable as early as 2 months of life.  It is often
accompanied by torticollis, involuntary contraction of the muscles of the neck that turns the head one way.  The
infant has a preference and favors turning the head usually to the right.
Purpose of this site

I am a pediatrician in my 11th year of practice in Arcadia, California.  I trained at Loma Linda University
Children's Hospital.  In training we have very little exposure to this very common problem of infancy.
Unfortunately there are very few options out there for parents.  I want to present the information for those who
are still searching for answers.

After completing my residency training in pediatrics in 2000, I returned to my medical roots.  As a graduate of
University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine, I am a DO, not an MD.  In the US, DOs are
physicians and surgeons licensed and trained in any field of medicine.  Loma Linda is an MD/allopathic
institution.  It was the 11 subsequent years that I returned to and continue in advanced studies in osteopathic
hands on manipulative treatments.

I have knowledge to share and a painless, quicker, more cost effective, cheaper = better treatment.
